Conmen of the Budol-budol gang struck anew yesterday and victimized a public school teacher at the downtown area.

The victim, a 63-year old retired teacher,  told police that she was approached by a conman while she was withdrawing money at the Landbank amounting to P65,000.

The suspect, who was reportedly speaking in  the Tagalog dialect, invited the woman to ride in his car which was parked along Rizal Street.

While in the car, the victim talked to a woman and three other persons who introduced themselves as business partners of the man.

The victim said that they drove to her rented home located at Bat Compound in Canelar to get P148,000 in addition to the P65,000 they initially got from her.

A total of P213,000 was thus given by the victim after the four conmen convinced her to enter into a business that will double the amount they had given them.

The group then proceeded to Governor Camins Avenue and dropped her near a commercial mall after giving her a small bag ostensibly containing money inside.

After she was left by the group, the victim discovered that she was given a paper bag with sheets of paper.

The victim, realizing she was duped, proceeded to the Central Police Station to report the incident.  (Dan Toribio)
