The Zamboanga City Police will maximize their deployment in preparation for the opening of classes this June.

Supt Mark Azur, Zamboanga Police Investigation and Detection Management Unit Chief, said that the police will also set up Police Assistance Desks in schools, as part of their directive to intensify police visibility.

Other security measures include intensifying their intelligence network and target hardening and assuring the security of teachers in island barangays.

Teachers deployed to teach in island barangays will be escorted to the schools by the police and elements of Task Force Zamboanga.

Meanwhile, Azur has advised parents to closely monitor their children in school and remind them not to go with strangers.

Other measures for the children’s security also include adopting a password system and always reminding the children not to go with people they meet through text or social media.  (RGAAGo)
