At least 15 passengers were injured when a bus turned on its side after being rear-ended by another vehicle in Panubigan yesterday.

Insp. Dahlan Samuddin, OIC Chief of Curuan Police Station said that the accident involved a passenger bus carrying 35 passengers and an icer truck loaded with dressed chicken.

Both vehicles were heading towards the city proper when the icer truck tried to overtake the bus upon reaching a curved portion of the road.

The icer truck driver however reportedly lost control of the steering wheel and bumped the rear end of the passenger bus, causing it to fall on its side.

Fifteen passengers were injured from the impact.

It was learned that the icer truck came from Cagayan de Oro and was travelling towards Zamboanga city to deliver chicken while the passenger bus came from Pagadian city when the accident took place.  (Dan Toribio)
