Tourism and business officials conducted its 2nd Consultative meeting on the possibility of improving air connectivity among the different ASEAN countries at a local hotel yesterday.

DOT-9 Regional Director Butch Blanco disclosed that the purpose of the meeting is to come up with plans and programs on opening of airlanes between the Philippines, China and Malaysia.

Discussions focused on opening flights from Zamboanga city to Malaysia and from China to Zamboanga city and vice versa.

There was also a suggestion to open flights from Clark Airport to Zamboanga.

Guidelines will be prepared as soon as suggestions are received from concerned sectors.

The program followed the recent opening of trips between Davao City and Indonesia.  (Allen Abastillas)
