Personal grudge was said to be the motive behind the murder of an 84-year old woman at her residence in La Paz last Saturday afternoon.

The victim, identified as Aurea Roca y Ventura, was killed after her throat was slashed by a still unidentified assailant.

Ayala Police Station Commander Chief Insp Karib Muharram said that the victim’s body was discovered by her son, Romeo Roca.

The victim sustained a lone slash wound in the throat.

Police were also able to recover a 36cm long scythe with blood stains, the weapon which was believed to have been used by the perpetrator.

Police believes that personal grudge is the possible motive for the killing since the victim was reported to have been very strict and did not want to live with any of her relatives.

The cadaver was brought to a funeral parlor for post mortem examination while police have launched a thorough investigation for the possible arrest of the suspects.  (Dan Toribio)
