The closure of all transitory sites for Zamboanga siege victims will be delayed from June to December this year, according to an official of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO.)

CSWD Officer Socorro Rojas attributed the postponement to a corresponding delay in the completion of all permanent shelters for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs.)

Rojas made the announcement based on a new projection given by NHA District Manager Al-Khwarizmi Indanan.

At present, phase 3 of Valle Vista Subdivision is still being completed to be followed by phase 4 of the housing project.

There are currently ten transitory sites where IDPs were temporarily located after the siege.

These are the transitory sites in Masepla, Kasanyangan, Rio Hondo, Bugguc, Tulungatung, Lupa Lupa, Rio Hondo, PTSI in Upper Calarian and Silsilah.

A total of 1,147 families are still residing in these transitory housing sites.

Recall that the CSWD announced initial plans to close all transitory housing sites and complete all permanent housing projects by June this year.  (RGAAGo)
