The Zamboanga City Development Council (CDC) chaired by Mayor Beng Climaco approved yesterday the amended 2018 component of the 2017-2019 Local Development Investment Program (LDIP) amounting to P4.232 billion.

The LDIP is the basic document that translates local plans into programs, projects and activities, which were identified in consultation with the different barangays through the Barangay Development Councils, civil society organizations, private sector organizations, non-government organizations, different offices/departments, trial courts, national high schools and other stakeholders.

Approved were appropriations for infrastructure (capital outlay) worth P1.741 billion, equipment amounting to P488 million, MOOE in the amount of P952 million and Personnel Services of P1.049 billion.

Under the plan, the general services will account for P1.379 billion, followed by social services with P1.375 billion, economic services P1.159 billion, and other services P319,203 million.

It was pointed out in the resolution that in its effort to optimize the utilization of its financial resources, the city government of Zamboanga has to exercise prudence in planning and fiscal management.

Held at Centro Latino, the CDC meeting was attended by members of the City Council headed by Vice Mayor Cesar Iturralde, barangay officials and CVO members.

Climaco tasked Iturralde to preside over the meeting as she had to meet with security officers at the second floor of Centro Latino.-(Vic Larato)
