The Department of Trade is concerned about the hampered flow of goods due to hostilities in some parts of Mindanao.

“We are looking at it very seriously,” said Department of Trade Provincial Director Ceferino Rubio.

Goods and services reportedly come from Cebu city and transported to Mindanao via Ozamis city.

The products then travel from Ozamis on to Ipil in Zamboanga Sibugay and then to Zamboanga city.

The DTI reportedly faces no problem on supply of goods.  Their transport however may be affected due to security problems in the region if it escalates.

“If there will be hampering and hindering as far as flow of commodities disturbing operators and drivers of trucks,” said Rubio.

Rubio however allayed fears by the public saying that the imposition of Martial Law may address any regional security concerns. (Liza Jocson)
