Col. Abraham Bagasin, regiment commander of the Army’s 1st Scout Ranger, commended the 4th Scout Ranger Battalion in Basilan for their efforts and contribution on the peace and order in the island province.

Western Mindanao Command information officer Col. Randolph Cabangbang said that Bagasin’s commendation was announced during his visit in Basilan on the day of the celebration of the 1st Founding Anniversary of the 4th Scout Ranger in the province.

Bagasin recognized the good jobs of the troops for their contribution in fighting against lawless groups operating in Basilan.
He reminded the troops that even as they hone their fighting skills, they should not forget their commitment and adherence to uphold the human rights and international humanitarian law.

Cabangbang disclosed that Bagasin was very impressed with the Scout Rangers in Mindanao for their performance as they have been doing more than what they are expected.

Bagasin cited the singular encounter figured by the 4th Scout Ranger Company and the 2nd Scout Ranger Battalion last August 13 in Cateel, Davao Oriental where the troops captured 11 New People’s Army rebels and  seized 17 high powered firearms during a 30-minute encounter.

Bagasin encouraged the troops to continue their good works to maintain the peace and order situation in Basilan and give no way to the lawless people.
