A 56-year-old man was shot to death by one of the drinking pals of his son in Sitio Nanca, barangay Lapakan, Saturday night.

Police identified the fatality as Jose Elvie Manalopilar y Apolinario, married.

The gunman was identified as Rizaldy Andico y Canelao Santos, 42, who escaped after the incident.

Initial police investigation showed that around 9:45 p.m., Manalo Pilar’s son, Jovie Manalo Pilar, 34, was having a drinking spree with Andico and Anthony Blasi y Gregorio, also of the same place.

Amid their drinking session, Jovie figured in a heated argument with Andico and Blasi. At the height of the altercation, Jovie screamed for help and his father responded to pacify the situation and to accompany Jovie home.

However, when the father and son were leaving the place, Andico suddenly drew a handgun and shot Jose in the mouth causing his death.

Andico escaped after the incident.

The cadaver was brought to the Villa Funeral Parlor for a post mortem examination.
