Alvarez designates Lobregat to facilitate appropriation needs of AFP/PNP in Region Print

House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez has designated Zamboanga City Congressman Celso Lobregat to bridge the national leadership and the law enforcement agencies here in the Wester Mindanao Region.

Lobregat said he was assigned by Speaker Alvarez to become the conduit of the Western Mindanao Command (WesMinCom) and the Police Regional Office 9 to facilitate the needs of the AFP/PNP leadership and coordinate with the house leadership for direct attention and appropriate action.

Alvarez told Lobregat to discuss with WesMinCom Chief,Lt.Gen. Carlito Galvez,Jr. and PRO9 Commander, Chief/Supt. Billy Beltran the immediate needs of their respective troops and command amidst the present volatile peace and order situation in the region.

Galvez and Beltran immediately complied with the instructions of Speaker Alvarez and Lobregat confirmed that the letters and recommendations of the two commanders were already transmitted by him personally to the Speaker before the adjournment of Congress last week.

The solon said that the house leadership can help the AFP and PNP operatives here in appropriation measures and using this to determine and procure equipment the military and police need in the field.

The designation of Lobregat to facilitate this process was tasked by Speaker Alvarez during his visit in Zamboanga City and discussed security matters in WesMinComwith the AFP and PNP officials.

In that meeting, Alvarez told Galvez and Beltran to tell Congressman Lobregat what is needed so the solon can bring it directly to his attention for the necessary budget appropriation.
