Albarico assures security on Independence Day PDF Print E-mail

Zamboanga City Police Office, Officer In-Charge, P/SUPT. JomariAlbarico assured the public that there will be enough security forces deployed to ensure public safety in today’s 119th Philippine Independence Day celebration.

He said the local police force is still in full alert since the start of martial law in Mindanao and they have never lowered their guards in ensuring the safety of the people.

He added that the local police are also in constant coordination with their military counterparts from Task Force Zamboanga to sustain the alert status.

“We are thankful to TFZ Chief, Col. Leonel Nicolas for also deploying his men to conduct routine patrols and visibility in the city.It is very helpful in maintaining our stable peace and order,” Albarico said.

During the conduct of command conference with the commanders of the 11 police stations in the entire city, Supt. Albarico advised all stations to increase their visibility and sustain round-the-clock checkpoints in their respective areas of responsibility, in order to deter any plan of terrorism targeting the city.

As we commemorate Independence Day today, Albarico is calling on all Zamboangeños to stand united and help the local police in monitoring their respective barangays from suspicious personalities which may be vital to the security of the city.

“I am constantly appealing and reiterating to our constituents to help us by giving information which may be useful to pre-empt possible atrocities,” Albarico said.

Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAAP), Secretary Jesus Durezais expected to lead the commemoration of the 119th Independence Day in Zamboanga City today, June 12.

The commemoration will kick off 7:00 am at the Plaza Rizal, fronting City Hall with a flag raising ceremony, to be followed by the wreath laying rites and a brief program.

Local officials and employees as well as representatives from different government and non-government agencies, including civic organizations and people’s organizations are expected to participate in the event themed, “Kalayaan 2017: PagbabagongSama-SamangBalikatin.” - BhongSimbajon/RMN News
