Top 20 Agri students to train with PRI Print

The Department of Agriculture will send the top twenty Agriculture graduates of a Zamboanga del Norte school to train at the Philippine Rice Institute in Nueva Ecija this month.

Constancio G. Alama, DA-9 Regional Director, said that beneficiaries are the top 20 students of the Jose Rizal Memorial State University students taking up Agriculture-related courses such as Agri Business, Agriculture and Agriculture Engineering.

Beneficiaries will be composed of a mixed group of first to fourth year students of the school.

They will be accompanied by three professors and the Municipal Agriculture Officer.

The students will be trained on the science of rice, rice production, and will  be allowed to undergo field demonstration.

“Man prepare este kanila na technical skills si queda sila agriculturist and agricultural technicians after graduating.  Pwede kanila man employ el Agriculture Officer later on cay tiene ya sila buen training,” said Alama.

The students are expected to undergo briefing this Saturday.

The activity will be held this June since the school closes this month and opens the school year in August.

Alama said that the program is a manifestation to the commitment of DA Secretary Emmanuel Piñol to support Agriculture students and encourage others to take up Agriculture.  (RGAAGo)
