DSWD sends food packs to Lanao PDF Print E-mail

The Department of Social Welfare and Development -9 (DSWD 9) has sent 15,000 food packs to Lanao Province last Friday to augment in relief operations for Marawi siege affected families.

Ivan Eric Salvador, DSWD-9 Information Officer said that the food packs have already arrived in Linamon, Lanao del Norte yesterday.

Each food pack contains 6 kilos of rice, 4 cans of corned beef, 4 cans of sardines and 6 sachets of three-in-one coffee.

The assistance was in response to a directive by the DSWD national office to help the victims in the area.

DSWD-9 data shows that as of June 15 in Marawi, there have been 68,109 families displaced in the conflict.

The figure translates to 332,582 persons.

A total of 3,722 families or 17,720 persons are staying in evacuation centers while 59,708 families composed of 291,692 individuals are staying outside the evacuation centers.  (RGAAGo)
