Twenty one workers of a fishing company were injured when the truck they were riding in “turned turtle” along the bypass road in Culianan last Sunday night.

Culianan Police Station Commander Chief Insp. Elmer Solon  disclosed that the road mishap took place past 6 p.m.  while the six-wheeler boom truck with plate number RJK 983 driven by Marlon Quiño y Tillo of Aurora, Pagadian City carrying 20 workers of Century Fishing was travelling along the bypass road.

The report said that the workers came from Sangali and were heading towards their barracks in Tugbungan when the accident happened.

Initial investigation showed that Quiño was driving on high speed and suddenly tried to avoid a portion of the road which was under repair upon upon reaching Buenakapok, Culianan.

At this point, the truck swerved to the left portion of the road and Quiño lost control of the steering wheel, sending the vehicle up-side-down.

Police said that all 20 workers and the driver were injured and were taken to the hospital.

The 20 workers were identified as Poly Nieva y Quiñones, 16, of Tugbungan, Reymart Arroz y Articulo, 24, of Luyahan, Pasonanca, Elmer Luzares y Abdunda, 21, of Tugbungan, Romnick Abunda y Tinos, 20, of Tugbungan, Jay-Ar Juan y Malandacun, 18, of Tugbungan, Johnloid Amilhassan y Matulac, 16, of Talon-Talon, Ray Mark Apelanio, 18, of Tugbungan, Junray Montaño y Oftana, 27, of Sangali, Rafael Buhawi y Verallo, 50, of Sangali, Kent Ebbs Arroz y Articulo, 21, of Luyahan, Pasonanca, Hendrin Salim y Legaspi, 44, of Tugbungan, Leo Booc y Banga, 20, of Tugbungan, Expedito Encabo, Jr., 22, of Talon-Talon, Jay-Ar Malandacun y Tata, 16, of Tugbungan, Gilbert Samson y Daygon, 19, of Tugbungan, Pilarico Papa y Acopiado, 28, of Tugbungan, Robert Afaveria of Tugbungan, Ivan Lance Patanao, 19, of Tugbungan, Mike Garcel, 29, of Tugbungan, Arnel Sanchez y Solo, 22, of Tugbungan and Mark Vista y Noat, 22, of Tugbungan.
