A 22-year-old man was killed while his wife was wounded during a gun attack in Pasay, Sabina Loon Subdivision, San Roque last Monday night.

Sta. Maria Police Station Commander Chief Insp. Joseph Ortega identified the fatality as Nurdin Hadjirul.

Hadjirul’s wife, Rhona Hadjirul, 23, was injured after being hit in the attack.

The victims were rushed to a private hospital but Nurdin expired after an hour.

Rhona was confined for further medication.

Initial investigation showed that the couple had just left their residence with Rhona driving the vehicle when two men who were riding in tandem on a motorcycle blocked their way.

The motorcycle backrider rained his targets with bullets, hitting both of the victims.

The suspects left the place, leaving the victims bloodied.

Nurdin sustained two bullet wounds in the head while Rhona was hit in both legs.  Nurdin expired at around 9:30 that evening.

Police recovered 19 spent shells, one empty magazine, one live ammunition and two deformed slugs of unknown caliber at the crime scene.

The Sta. Maria police have launched a thorough investigation for the suspects’ arrest.

Police initially disclosed that personal grudge was the motive behind the gun attack. (Dan Toribio )
