At least P60-million worth of shabu, one of the biggest hauls in anti drug operations in the city, was confiscated by police from a residence in Sinunuc yesterday morning.

A police report disclosed that prior to the confiscation,  Tetuan Police Station Commander Supt Nonito Asdai and his men conducted a buy-bust operation at a pension house located along Governor Alvarez Street which led to the arrest of suspect  Almujir Sabtal y Usman along Ogie, 29 and a resident of Sinunuc.

Sabtal’s arrest yielded four sachets of suspected shabu and P200 marked money.

During interrogation, Sabtal told police that there were three kilos of shabu that he left inside the house of a certain Carmin Maluddin y Aliakbar, 36 and husband Sakur Alijam y Jimo in Vallerosa Subdivision Sinunuc.

Asdai and his men coordinated with agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and proceeded to the area and were able to confiscate three kilos of suspected shabu inside the house.

Police also arrested the couple.

Asdai said that three other persons were arrested in separate buy-bust operations at a pension house in Guiwan.

All the suspects were detained at the Tetuan Police Station while the confiscated items were forwarded to the 9th PNP Crime Laboratory for examination.  (Dan Toribio)
