The Regional Maritime Unit-9 has tightened security at the Roll in Roll out (RORO) wharf in Dapitan city following reports that Maute terrorists plan to place bombs in motor vehicles passing through the wharf.

RMU -9 Regional Chief Sr Supt Pedro Soliba reportedly conducted a command visit to Pulauan yesterday to oversee security arrangements in the area.

Soliba also visited Pagadian city and Ipil municipality to check on security procedures implemented by Maritime personnel.

In an interview, Soliba said that the purpose of his command visit is not only to oversee Maritime operations but to personally check on the welfare of his operatives.

He directed the Maritime troopers to remain on alert and always be vigilant as military operations in Marawi is still ongoing.

“Do your mission for the safety of each community in your area of jurisdiction,” Soliba said.  (Allen Abastillas)
