Zamboanga City Police Officer in Charge Supt Diomarie Albarico has called on the public to keep calm and refrain from circulating text messages that alarm other residents.

In an interview with local newsmen, Albarico assured residents that police have intensified security measures in Zamboanga city in light of reported terror attacks in the region.

Police are doing validation of all reports of suspicious persons but so far, no confirmation has been made of terrorists’ presence.

“Even the reports we continue to receive are negative.  Our security is still heightened and we are not lowering our guard,”  Albarico said.

Police are still doing constant patrols and spot and mobile checkpoints as security measures.

“De mio lang apelo conel maga constituentes, necesita quita esta vigilante y alertao.  Si nota maga suspechoso persona areredor, pabor informa dayun conel autoridad para cuji kame conestos,”  Albarico appealed.

Albarico said that police appreciate reports given by concerned residents as they show cooperation and vigilance among the populace.

He however assured everyone that there is no reason to panic as police and military authorities in Zamboanga are on top of the situation.  (Bhong Simbajon)
