DOH distributes TVs to promote health PDF Print E-mail

The Department of Health has distributed 60 television sets in region 9 to promote awareness on good health practices throughout the Zamboanga peninsula.

The television distribution program, known as Philippine Health TV, was launced in 10 health centers in the region last Friday.

Among the health centers that were benefited by the program include the following:  Balangasan Main Health Center; San Pedro Health Center, Sta Lucia Health Center, Tungawan Rural Health Unit, Imelda Rural Health Unit, Labason and Manukas Rural Health Units, Canelar Health Center, Calarian Health Center and the Ayala Wellness Center.

Aside from television sets, each of the health centers were also given a hard drive containing infomercials and computer tablets to be used as tools for the health workers.

Among programs to be shown on the television are DOH infomercials and short films on pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, child health, adolescence, senior citizens and disasters.

“Sa mga clients, after makita nila yung aming patalastas, sundin nila yung mga messages na nakalagay doon.  Lahat yan para sa kanilang kalusugan,” said Rosemarie Aguirre, DOH Chief Communication Officer.

Among the officials who were present during the distribution are DOH-9 Regional Director Aristedes Tan; City Health Officer Dr Rodel Agbulos and Dr Mar Wynn Bello of the DOH Health Promotions and Communication Service.  (RGAAGo)
