A government vehicle assigned to the Department of Social Welfare and Development encountered an accident at Sitio Taloptap, Vitali Zamboanga city last Friday.

A Police Regional Office-9 report described the vehicle as an Isuzu D-Max with temporary plate number CM 5018.

The vehicle was reportedly driven by Albert Sumicad y Pellazar, 52 years old, married and a resident of Riverside, Zamboanga city.

Initial investigation said that the vehicle was en route from Dapitan to Zamboanga city and passing along Sitio Taloptap in Barangay Vitali when the accident happened.

The slippery road caused the vehicle’s rear tire to slide upon reaching a curved pavement, making the driver lose control of the steering wheel.

The vehicle turned left side down and plunged to a downgraded portion of the road, according to the police report.

The driver and passenger incurred minor injuries while a motorcycle and house in the area incurred damages.  (LAJ)
