Sindangan police awarded region’s best PNP station PDF Print E-mail

The Sindangan Municipal Police Station under the leadership of P/Supt. Alikhan Abas Yusop was conferred the “2010 Best Municipal Police Station Award” for its outstanding achievements in crime solution and other related activities that brought about peace and tranquility in the municipality.

P/Supt. Yusop received the award from PSSupt. Elpidio de Asis, PRO-9 Chief during the awarding ceremony coinciding with the PNP’s 110th anniversary celebration Friday, August 5 at the PRO-9 headquarters in Camp Abendan in Mercedes.

Under Yusop’s leadership, the Sindangan Municipal Police Station made remarkable impact after the conduct of series of police activities including apprehensions of lawless elements, traffic management and even community related activities.

Aside from bagging the best municipal police station award, the Sindangan Municipal Police Station is also proud of its commander—P/Supt. Yusop, who is also the Regional finalist for Lead PNP award PRO-9: the mentor leader for chief of police/station commander in consonance with the PNP integrated transformation program.
Supt. Yusop, who is concurrently Chief of Regional Special Operation Group- PRO9, is cited for his exemplary performance and noteworthy accomplishments manifesting indisputable integrity and professionalism as a Chief of police and being truly a mentor leader that is worthy of praise and emulation.

The Sindangan Municipal Police Station chief was the chief of Sinunuc Police Station from 2006-2007; chief, investigation division of the Zamboanga City Police Office from 2007-2008; group director of 905th Provincial Mobile Group in 2009 and Chief of Police, Isabela Police Station in 2010.

During the 16th Police Community Relation (PCR) Month celebration last July, P/Supt. Yusop was also adjudged as the “Best PCR PCO (Police Commissioned Officer) of the year 2011 while the Sindangan Municipal Police Station was also adjudged as the “Best PCR Municipal Police Station PRO-9 and the “Best PCR Municipal Station of Zamboanga del Norte Police Provincial Office.

Yusop, 36, is a registered nurse, LLB graduate and is a Police Executive Service eligible. He was also a recipient of other prestigious awards such as the Medalya ng Kasanayan at Medalya ng Papuri. — Sheila Covarrubias
