Woman wounded by policeman's indiscriminate fire Print

A 64-year old woman was wounded by a policeman who allegedly fired his gun indiscriminately in Ramos Village, Sta Filomena, Dipolog city last Saturday.

The victim was identified as Victoria Gomez Perez, married.

Initial investigation showed that Perez was inside her room when she heard gunshots coming from outside the house.

Seconds later, she noticed blood oozing out of her left leg.

During investigation, police obtained information from eyewitnesses that another policeman, identified as PO2 Roy Vertudes fired his .22 rifle gun within the vicinity.

Vertudes’ wife Lilia surrendered the gun to the police but claimed that her husband left home and has not returned since then.  (Dan Toribio)
