After more than a month in the hands of Maute terrorists, government troops were able to retake Dansalan College last Tuesday.

The school , located atop an elevated location was seized by terrorists and used to view the troops’ location and movements.

Givern their advantage, terrorist snipers then fire at advancing troops and deliver rocket propelled grenades to disable the tanks.

Dansalan College was also considered as a key observation post that enabled terrorists to do the necessary adjustments in their own deployment.

“Those advantages are now with our operating troops,” says Brigadier General Rolando Bautista, JTF Marawi Commander.

Bautista said that having taken over the location, troops are now able to provide defensive cover to make the advance of their colleagues more secured.(Wesmincom PR)
