A total of 350 families from Marawi city have fled to Pagadian and are now staying as home-based evacuees in the area.

DSWD-9 Information Officer Ivan Salvador said that their office has prepared 350 food packs as food assistance to the families.

The food packs are part of the commitment of the Social Welfare regional office to attend to the needs of the victims in Marawi, based on a directive from the national office.

Food packs contain 6 kilos of rice, six cans of sardines, 6 cans of corned beef, and six sachets of coffee.  The provisions are enough for three days for the family.

The food packs are apart from the 15,000 food packs prepared and distributed by the DSWD-9 office for distribution to Marawi victims in Lanao del Norte.

The DSWD Regional Office has spent a total of P5.4-million for food assistance for the victims of conflict in Marawi.  (Liza Jocson)
