A concert for a cause, dubbed as “Awit Tawanan,” will be held on July 29 at the Zamboanga Coliseum to benefit pregnant mothers and children housed in social welfare centers in the city.

Proceeds from the concert are expected to benefit indigent pregnant mothers seeking treatment at the Zamboanga Puericulture Center (ZPC) and children housed at the Social Development Center (SDC.)

Performing artists include comedienne Ethel Booba, the singing boy group JUANS, and singers Jeff and Ace.

A special number will also be given by City Health Officer Dr Rodel Agbulos.

“The project will go a long way in trying to help our less fortunate.  We hope to enterain the public and hope that we will be able to raise enough funds to support the SDC AND ZPC,” Agbulos said.

Hja. Hanina Alrefai, Awit Tawanan Chairperson, assured supporters of the program that proceeds will go to the beneficiaries.

“My heart is really touched when it comes to children, that is why we are doing this,” said Alrefai.

Tickets are available at the KCC Mall de Zamboanga and at the City Health Office for P975, P600, P400 and P150.  (RGAAGo)
