Investigation showed that Pingos and Soriano were headed towards the west coast at around 1:43pm when they were hit by a delivery truck driven by Jumar Pameron y Gabales.

Prior to being hit by the truck, the motorcycle driven by Pingos and a car driven by a certain Ushman Hassan y Asmad were going towards the same direction when upon reaching Zone 6, they tried to avoid a delivery truck which was travelling on high speed.

Pameron failed to control the steering wheel and bumped the motorcycle and damaged the signal light of the car.

Pingos was said to have died from a fractured skull while Soriano sustained an injury on her left foot and bruises on her neck.
