There was no request from the police to investigate a Philippine driver’s license presented by an Indonesian national to a local hotel.

Land Transportation Office-9 Legal Officer Atty. Yildrin T. Amaraja said that his office has not received any request to investigate the alleged issuance of a driver’s license by the LTO.

“We received negative communication from the police, from the central office or from the Director’s office to conduct an investigation about the issuance of falsified driver’s license,” said Amaraja.

In another report, the LTO was said to have confirmed that the driver’s license presented by Indonesian nationals Kunaefi Wahid y Madrukum and Untung Riyanto was genuine.

The Indonesians however were reported to have used falsified documents in obtaining the license.

Zamboanga City Police Office Spokesperson Chief Insp Edwin Duco said that the LTO should be conducting an investigation on its own to check how the license was issued. (Allen Abastillas)
