ARI tops Morbidity list Print

The number of Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) has increased in recent weeks and has topped the morbidity list for the first week of July.

City Health Office records state that there were 2,867 cases of ARI and 37 cases of Pneumonia for the month of May.

The number of ARI cases shot up to 3,440  and 42 Pneumonia cases the following month.

ARI was on top of the health office’s morbidity list from July 3 to 7.

ARI is followed by Animal bites, Fever, Wounds, Headache, Hypertension, Skin Disease, Asthma Fibromyalgia, and Urinary Tract Infection.

City Health Officer Dr Rodel Agbulos asked residents to take the necessary precautions to safeguard themselves from contracting the disease.

He advised residents to drink lots of water, eat nutritious food and get enough sleep and rest.  (RGAAGo)
