This safety measure was ignored by a 19-year-old man who died after his head hit a concrete post when his motorcycle crashed in Sangali last Wednesday night. His backrider escaped unhurt.

A police report disclosed that Zamora and his companion, whose identity was not known, came from Bolong and were on their way to Sangali when their motorcycle rammed a concrete post near the entrance to the Sangali Fishing Port.

Police said that Zamora and his backrider, who were not wearing crash helmet, were thrown off the motorcycle due to the strong impact.
Zamora’s head hit the concrete post causing serious head injuries.

Police said that Zamora’s companion ran away and reported the incident to the former’s relatives.
Police rushed to the scene of accident and invited Zamora’s companion for questioning but he escaped and was later nowhere to be found.
