A 17-year old student died while two others were injured during a fatal road mishap along the Culianan portion of Maria Clara Lobregat Highway last Saturday.

The fatality was identified as Adrian Jay Cabas Perez, 17 years old single and a resident of Cabaluay.

The two other casualties were identified as Jake Rameel Hayudini, 17, single and a resident of Villa Teresa Subdivision in Culianan and Madelyn Mendoza dela Cruz, 44, married.

Initial investigation showed that Perez was driving a motorcycle with Hayudini as his backrider when the former lost control of the steering bar upon reaching a curve in the road.

Perez’s motorcycle sideswiped another motorcycle driven by dela Cruz and went straight on high speed towards a streetlight post.

Perez and Hayudini were thrown from the vehicle due to the strong impact.

Perez’s head was badly injured after hitting a hard object.  He was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians at a local hospital.

Hayudini and dela Cruz were confined for treatment. (Dan Toribio)
