A fishing boat crewman was killed while a passerby was wounded during a daring gun attack along Governor Ramos Avenue in San Roque last Thursday.

Police identified the fatality as Hasim Johny Hanjalani, 36 years old, married and a resident of Salam Drive, Sta. Barbara.  The injured passerby was identified as Hanzel Hiring, 20 years old, and a resident of Budlong Drive, San Roque.

A police report disclosed that Hanjalani was on board his motorcycle and traveling along Governor Ramos Avenue when the incident happened.

Upon reaching the National Food Authority office, two men riding tandem on another motorcycle chased Hanjalani and opened fire several times.

One of the bullets hit Hirang, who at that moment was buying something from a store.

The gunman finally hit Hanjalani who was thrown to the ground. Hirang, meanwhile, was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Police recovered some spent shells of a .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.  Investigation is still ongoing for the possible arrest of the killers.  (Dan Toribio)
