MNLF Jikiri faction Secretariat Head Abu Amri A. Taddik has denied any ongoing recruitment of MNLF personnel.

This, following an incident where  sixty suspicious individuals claimed to have been recruited for integration into the MNLF.

The persons are now facing Rebellion charges.

Taddik  said that there are reports of an ongoing recruitment of MNLF members where applicants are required to fill up a form and pay P500 to join the AFP.

Taddik denies the alleged recruitment saying that the MNLF integration program quota has been completed as early as 2003.

There is no such program under the current peace process, Taddik said.

He labeled the alleged recruitment as a scam and warned would be recruits not to be deceived.

Taddik made the statement after police rounded up sixty people in Zamboanga city and Zamboanga Sibugay last Tuesday .

The men, who claim to come from municipalities in Basilan, said that they have been recruited by the MNLF and were on their way to Lanao.

The men were detained at a Zamboanga city police station and were brought to Manila yesterday.  (Ely Dumaboc)
