7 beheaded bodies found in Basilan PDF Print E-mail

Seven decapitated bodies were found by military and police personnel in Lantawan municipality,Basilan last Sunday.

Basilan Police Provincial Office Chief Sr Supt Nickson Muksan said that all the bodies were recovered within the vicinity of barangay Switch Yakal in Lantawan.

At around 3:30pm last Sunday, police and the 14th Special Forces recovered two decomposing male cadavers.

They were identified as Nestor Divinagracia, 50 and Ely Divinagracia, 55.  The two were reported missing last July 20 in Sitio Age, barangay Lower Mahayahay in Lantawan.

At 4pm that same afternoon, elements of the Philippine Army’s 15th Special Forces Battalion recovered 5 male cadavers within the vicinity of Campo Barn barangay Switch Yakal.

The five beheaded bodies were identified to be that of Roberto Lacastesantos, 48; Renato Casiple, 36; Hernando Sali, 52; Rene Sanson, 28 and Mamerto Falcasantos, 55.

The five were militiamen who went missing last July 22 at Rancho Eguana, Sitio Campo Barn, barangay Switch Yakal.

All the victims had been decapitated.

Muksan said that the seven victims are reported to have been decapitated by Abu Sayyaf leaders Abu Pasil Bayali and Otoh Dobol.  (Remus Ong)
