An illegal recruiter who was earlier arrested went to a hospital instead of being detained after complaining of health problems to authorities.

The suspect was identified as Raymond Chan y Dawal, 48 years old, separated and a resident of Ermita Manila.

Personnel of the Bureau of Immigration and Deportation (BID) served a warrant of arrest against Chan at the Zamboanga port last Monday.

Chan is reportedly facing charges of illegal recruitment based on a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Cynthia Martinez of the 3rd Judicial Region, Branch 39, Regional Trial Court of San Jose city dated September 29, 2014.

The court recommended the amount of P200,000 as bail.

The suspect, who was turned over to the Central Police Station, however complained of health problems and asked that he be taken to a hospital instead of jail.  (Dan Toribio)
