Radio announcer gunned down in Zambo Sur Print

A radio announcer, who was also elected barangay kagawad, was gunned down after coming from his program at a government affiliated radio station in Molave, Zamboanga del Sur last Sunday.

Police Regional Information Officer Chief Insp. Helen Galvez identified the fatality as Rudy Dahunan Alicaway, 46 years old, married, and a resident of Miligan, Molave.

Galvez said that the incident happened while Alicaway was riding his motocycle on the way home after holding his Sunday program “Tigmo-Tigmo” over at DXPB 106.9 Radyo ng Bayan.

Upon reaching Sitio Lopez in Barangay Culo, one of two suspects riding on a motorcycle alighted and shot the victim twice.

The gunmen fled on board their motorcycle while the victim was rushed to the Salug Valley Medical Center where he was declared dead on arrival.

Police recovered two spent shells and live ammunition from a 9mm calibre pistol at the crime scene.

Police have launched a throrough investigation to determine the identities of the suspect.  (Dan Toribio)
