A Zamboangueño construction worker reunited with family members after reportedly being recovered in Basilan yesterday morning.

A Western Mindanao Command press release identified the victim as Edmundo Ramos aka Moymoy, a construction worker from Zamboanga city.

Ramos was recovered within the vicinity of Tapiantana island in Basilan province at around 1am yesterday.

At a press briefing yesterday,  Ramos told reporters that he was able to escape from the Abu Sayyaf Sunday evening.

He said that he walked for at least an hour before boarding a boat with still unidentified men and sailed towards Tapiantana island Tabuan Lasa municipality in Basilan province.

Ramos said that he was able to meet a military informant who brought him to the Philippine Navy headquarters in Basilan province.

Ramos was reportedly able to escape with three of his companions identified as Jason Pon Vailoces, Joel De Mesa Adanza, and Filemon Francisco Guerrero Jr.

While the three were presented to the media last Friday, it was still unclear what happened to Ramos until his recovery yesterday morning in Basilan province.
