HPG-9 intercepts carnapped vehicle Print

A driver who sought for a clearance certificate from the Highway Patrol Group discovered that a vehicle that he was buying has been carnapped.

The vehicle, an Isuzu Crosswind with plate number DDK 871, is now in the custody of the Highway Patrol Group -9 in Zamboanga Sibugay.

Sr. Inspector Mervin Claret, HPG-9 Operation Officer, said that the information on the status of the vehicle was learned after the car was checked through the HPG Motor Vehicle Management Information System.

Based on the information obtained, it was found out that the vehicle is under the Hold Order with Stolen status under LW2008-0214-005.

The vehicle is owned by a certain Celso Benologa of Marikina city while the driver who asked for the Certificate of Clearance was identified as Bert Bolayog of Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte.

The vehicle is now impounded at the Highway Patrol Group headquarters in Zamboanga Sibugay for macro-etching examination.  (Allen Abastillas)
