Three houses and several stores were gutted down by fire along San Jose Road yesterday morning.

The incident was reported to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) shortly before 11:00 in the morning.

Edelyn Balahaja, owner of a tailoring shop in the area said, she was inside her shop when she heard that there was a fire.

She said that when she went out, she saw flames coming from a residential house located at the back of a carwash center.

The fire quickly spread to several stores and houses as most of the structures were made of light materials.

Fire trucks from the BFP Central Station and other sub-stations responded in the area.

Water tankers from other agencies were also sent to supply water to the fire trucks.

Fire fighters declared fire out after an hour with no casualty reported.

Fire investigators are still investigating the incident. (Dan Toribio)
