Congressman Celso Lobregat and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) field office conducted a back-to-back orientation on Saturday, August 26, 2017 for 622 beneficiaries of the DOLE’s “TUPAD” program.

TUPAD - “Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/ Displaced Workers” is a temporary employment program of the DOLE.

Beneficiaries are given temporary employment for 15 days at P296.00 per day. All in all including uniforms, insurance and admin fee. The cost for this particular program is P3,181,530.00.

Beneficiaries which came from the different barangays of District 1 were identified by their respective barangay officials.

The morning cluster orientation was held at Ayala NHS Multi-purpose building for 246 beneficiaries from Limpapa down to Sinunuc. The afternoon orientation was held at the ZCSPC Gym for 376 beneficiaries from Barangay Calarian down to the downtown area.

Included in the program was the “Juramiento de Un Empleado de Gobierno” which among others states: “Reporta yo temprano na trabajo, y sirvi lampas na ora si necesita. To me, this is a must in public service.” Lobregat said.

Congressman Lobregat added that as long as he is the congressman in District 1, this program with DOLE will be sustained in order to help alleviate the lives of the less fortunate constituents of his district.

Aside from DOLE, Lobregat continues to advocate pro-poor livelihood programs with other partner agencies from the national government. (Dexter Yap/PR)
