Policemen of the Sta. Maria Police Station recovered three stolen motoryccles owned by police trainees from suspected motorcycle thieves in a police checkpoint at dawn yesterday.

A report from the Sta. Maria Police Station diclosed that policemen were conducting a checkpoint at around 1:00 a.m. when three motoryccles composed of two XRM and a Honda Wave passed by.

Two of the three motoryccles were driven by minors aged 15 and 16 years old.

Because all the three drivers failed to present papers of the motorcycles, police held the vehciles.

Policemen were not yet informed that the drivers were motorcycle thieves and the vehicles were stolen. They released the three drivers and impounded the motorcycles.

At around 7:00 a.m., a flash alarm reached all police stations that three motorcycles owned by police trainees were stolen from their barracks in Camp Abendan in Mercedes last Monday night.

At the same time, policemen of the Culianan Police Station under the supervision of Chief Insp. Hazel Fernandez, conducted a follow-up operation in Zone 1, Mercedes that resulted to the arrest of the three suspects.

One of the three was identified as Raynie Alup while two others were minors. – Dan Toribio
