Vitali Police Station commander, Chief Insp.  Joseph Lim clarified yesterday that it was his team which conducted a buy-bust operation in Tumaga Porcentro last Wednesday night that resulted to the arrest of a notorious drug pusher, and that the operation was not an abduction as what was reported earlier.

Lim disclosed that in coordination with the Sta. Maria Police Station, he and his men swooped down Tumaga Porcentro purposely to launch a buy-bust operation against Mashur Mohammad y Magbanua, alias Sol, 18, of Aurora Village, Guiwan.

Policemen confiscated from the suspect two sachets of shabu and P200 marked money.

Lim said that after the operation, they brought Mohammad to their station but while on the way, they were stopped by soldiers manning a checkpoint in Guisao after false information scattered that they abducted a man in Tumaga.

Lim then talked and explained to the soldiers the incident and introduced themselves as policemen and that it was a buy-bust operation and not an abduction. (Dan Toribio)
