DTI to launch “Trabaho, Negosyo at Kabuhayan Program” Print

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) regional office 9 is set to conduct their Trabaho, Negosyo, at Kabuhayan (TNK) which aims to create some 7.5 million jobs nationwide.

The program would focus in the main key employment generating sectors and will be held from October 6 to 10 in different areas in Zamboanga Peninsula.

These key employment generating sectors include manufacturing, food processing, construction, tourism, information technology business process management, transportation and logistics, and retail trade. This will be spearheaded by the DTI together with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

Engr. Rolando Acuña, DTI 9 assistant regional director, disclosed that the major activities during the TNK are Zamboanga Peninsula Exposition (Zampex) 2017, Zamboanga Peninsula Investment Conference (ZamPen Icon), Slingshot Halal Philippines, and the Regional Consumers Conference (RECCON). Aside from these, there will also be jobs fair for job seekers.

Zampex is the region’s biggest and grandest marketing platform dedicated to the promotion of the peninsula’s best products by the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This will promote locally made products of MSMEs in the region.

Products to be displayed will include jewelries, furniture and furnishing, gift, toys, and housewares, organic and nature products, processed fruits, arts and crafts, and holiday decors.

ZamPen Icon will be done for the first time to promote the region as a viable investment destination in the country and improve the investment climate of the region.

Slingshot Halal Philippines will be held to discuss programs for start-up innovations in the Philippines especially for Halal-related products and increase awareness on Halal.

The RECCON will provide information and updates on laws concerning consumerism to the public for a wider scope of consumer protection rights in the business place.

“TNK is designed to realize Ambisyon 2040 and the 2030 agenda for sustainable development and economic growth,” Acuña said.

Recall, President Rodrigo R. Duterte signed Executive Order 25 approving the 25 year long term vision for the Philippines dubbed as Ambisyon 2040. (R.G. A A. Go)
