PRO-9 promotes 56 officers and 195 enlisted personnel in Zambo PDF Print E-mail

Two hundred fifty-one PNP uniformed personnel from Regional Headquarter, Regional Public Safety Battalion 9 and National Support Units were promoted to the next higher rank before their families and love ones during the simultaneous mass oath-taking and donning of ranks ceremony held at the Police Regional Office 9 Quadrangle, Mercedes, Zamboanga City yesterday morning.

Police Regional Information Officer Chief Insp. Helen Galvez disclosed that Sr. Supt. Edwin de Ocampo, Deputy Regional Director for Administration (DRDA), administered the oath of office and donning of ranks to the 251 PNP uniformed personnel which comprised of 56 Police Commissioned Officers and 195 Police Non-Commissioned Officers.

In his resounding messages to the newly promoted police officers, De Ocampo congratulated the newly promoted PNP uniformed personnel and their respective families and at the same time he challenged them to perform their respective job well, be efficient, effective and accomplish the mission, so that justice can give to the promotion they had earned.

"Promotion is an advancement of an employee from one position to another with an increase in duties and responsibilities as authorized by law, and usually accompanied by an increase in salary", De Ocampo said.

“Apparently, the government is fair enough in providing reasonable compensation, I encourage you in making this as a motivating factor for you to continue the work in accomplishing the PNP’s mission and take responsibility in giving the community a quality service they deserve”, he added.

A simultaneous mass oath-taking and donning of rank also conducted at the Zamboanga Sibugay PPO, Zamboanga Del Sur PPO, Zamboanga del Norte PPO, Zamboanga City Police Office and Isabela City Police Station/. This summed up to a 678 total strength of newly promoted police officers in PRO9 comprising of 52 Police Commissioned Officers and 626 Police Non-Commissioned Officers, respectively. The PNP National Supports Units has 4 Police Commissioned Officers and 195 Police Non-Commissioned Officers newly promoted police officers. The promotion of PNP unformed personnel of PRO9 and NSU completes the 2nd Level PCOs and PNCOs Regular Promotion Program for the calendar year 2017. – Dan Toribio
