Two fishing boats caught for illegal fishing Print

Policemen of the 903rd  Maritime Police Station in Pagadian City  are readying a case in the Provincial Prosecutor’s of the Zamboanga del Norte  against  the operators of two fishing boats for violation R.A 10456, otherwise known as the Fishery Code of the Philippines.

Chief Inspector Wilfrido A. Abellon disclosed that while the operatives were conducting  their regular seaborne operations in the  seawater off Tabina Municipality they chanced upon  two fishing boats identified as F/B Ivonne and F/B Maria Eve which   illegally fishing the coastal area of the municipality of Tabina without necessary permits  and moreover all the fishing crew have no license from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR)or from the Municipal Agriculture Office or Provincial Agriculture Office.

In addition, the police discovered that the two fishing boats are illegally fishing  within municipal waters which by fishery law is intended for ordinary fishermen.

The two fishing boats are now docked at the Pagadian City wharf.  Allen Abastillas
