City registers 1,844 new businesses just for the first three quarters Print

The City Permits and Licensing Division has revealed that that there were 1,844 new businesses registered in Zamboanga City just from January to September of this year.

The office registered 1,844 new businesses and another 10,856 for renewal of existing businesses.

Benjie Barredo, chief of the city permits and licensing division, said in an interview that the increase was brought about by the good economy in Zamboanga City.

“Embuenamente el maga businesses, ta pwede kita mira physically donde donde lang tan sprout el negocio diatun ara bueno el economy,” Barredo stressed.

According to Barredo, many of these new businesses are engaged on food and services.

“I think ta mira sila el Zamboanga City is progressing y ta mira sila el opportunity bonito man negosyo na Zamboanga poreso tan invest sila,” he said.

The permits and licensing division chief explained that every year, they are trying to streamline and make it easy for businessman to register and acquire their business permits.

However, he said that when it comes to business friendliness it only not depends on business registration it also depends on security, power supply, water, and internet.

The Business One Stop Shop (BOSS) is also one of the reasons why a businessman can register his businesses easier and faster. The BOSS is a system where all offices and agencies involved in the business registration and renewal process are housed is one roof.

He is also encouraging businessmen and entrepreneurs to come to Zamboanga and put up their business. (R.G. A A. Go)
