Mayor orders thorough probe of Z3R house ‘for sale’ Print

Mayor Beng Climaco has ordered the Z3R Focal Team and City Housing and Land Management Division to track down the identity of the person or persons behind the Z3R house for sale post in the social media that has become viral and trending.

And if the investigation turns out positive, the offices concerned are tasked to undertake appropriate measures against those involved, as provided for under the law, the mayor said.

The housing unit should be retrieved or repossessed by the government, according to Climaco.

The mayor’s instruction came about, as a certain Roxanne Rojo Pedro created a post on social media Tuesday morning advertising a house and lot for rush sale. The price tag for the “concrete house” with an area of 60 square meters is P350,000. Pedro also posted her contact details.

Initial investigation showed that the house is owned by Emilyn Sagadsad Abucay and is located at Block 10, lot 13 at the Paniran Resettlement Site. Since it is located in a resettlement site managed by the City Government, the owner is paying monthly amortization and has a balance of P59,405.10.

The Z3R Focal team led by Yahya Abdusalam inspected the site to confront the house owner Wednesday after “negotiations” through text messages with Pedro.  Apparently, the house was unattended as the Mrs. Abucay is in Sibugay while her husband Ronald is a tricycle driver and is practically out the whole day.

Climaco said the city will pursue investigation of the issue considering that prior probes have not yield the desired results. The city will take all necessary steps if only to stop all possible irregularities, the mayor added. (Sheila Covarrubias)
