West Metro and B Braun to put up Hemodialysis training center for nurses Print

West Metro Medical Center together with B Braun will soon be opening its Hemodialysis Training Center for nurses so that they will become fully equipped when it comes to conducting Hemodialysis.

Ramon H. Diaz, West Metro Medical Center president and chief executive officer, said in an interview that the hospital have already signed the memorandum of agreement (MOA) together with B Braun.

B Braun will be sending their teachers to train nurses on how to use the hemodialysis machine. B Braun is a company supplying hemodialysis machines in the country.

West Metro Medical Center is in the process of acquiring 30 more unit of hemodialysis machine for its dialysis center where the lecture and training will be conducted for six months.

The Hemodialysis Training Center for nurses is expected to be open by the later part of the first quarter 2018. The training center will give the certification course especially for those who wanted to specialize as hemodialysis nurses.

According to Diaz, this will be the first training center for Region 9. To train for hemodialysis, nurses will still have to go to Davao, Cebu, and Manila.

Once certified by the center, the nurse can practice anywhere in the Philippines and even anywhere in the world.

Dialysis is being done for those with kidney failure where the machine function as kidney and the patient is attached to the machine. (R.G. A A. Go)
