PSA conducts Listing of Farm Households in Region 9 PDF Print E-mail

The Philippine Statistics Authority-9 (PSA-9) is currently conducting its Listing of Farm Households in Zamboanga Peninsula to update its list of household still engaged in farming.

Mark Anthony Belderol, Officer-in-Charge for Zamboanga City District, said in an interview that the listing is being done nationwide which started from September 11 to November 18, 2017.

PSA hired a total of 89 enumerators for Region 9 for the Listing of Farm Households, 29 of these enumerators are deployed in Zamboanga City.

The PSA targets to survey 100,174 households in Region 9. For Zamboanga City, there are 41,550 households to be surveyed covering 26 barangays, Zamboanga del Norte 22,679 covering 59 barangays, Zamboanga del Sur 19,617 covering 59 barangays, and Zamboanga Sibugay 16,328 covering 39 barangays.

According to Belderol, the enumerators are using tablet during the survey. The survey is short which only have 15 questions.

The questions for the survey includes the respondents personal information, if they have a farm, if they are farm workers, if they have fruit trees or backyard garden, and if they are engaged in poultry raising.

“Our objective is to update the samples that we are using for agricultural statistics. Especially for surveys related to agricultural statistics,” Belderol said.

The office is also appealing to the respondents of the survey to give the enumerators the accurate data. “Please bear with our enumerators the data that we get from you is important for the activities being conducted by PSA. So we will also have the data to be given to stakeholders and planners.” (R.G. A A. Go)
