‘Perya’ winner shot to dead,navy man hurt by stray bullet PDF Print E-mail

A man who reportedly won in the “perya” was shot to death while a Navy enlisted man was by stray bullet in a gun attack along San Jose Gusu yesterday morning.

Killed was Hernand Oranolia y Delos Reyes, 35, single of Ayala and wounded was SN1 Jonard Enolpe, assigned at Naval Forces Command in Lower Calarian.

Oranolia sustained a bullet wound in the chest and was taken to a private hospital but he later expired while Enolpe was hit by stray bullets in both arms was brought to Camp Navarro General Hospital in WesMinCom.

Police initial investigation showed that Oranolia won a big amount of cash in the perya in San Jose, and while on his way home riding his motorcycle and upon reaching San Jose Gusu, two unidentified men riding tandem on another motorcycle  were tailing him and the backrider shot him several times.

Oranolia was hit in the chest and he immediately lost control the steering bar and swerved to the other lane. During that moment, Enolpe was heading towards city proper coming from his duty in Naval Forces Command when he was unfortunately hit by stray bullets on his both arms.

The gunmen panicked and failed to get the winning money of Oranolia and decided to  sped away after they saw that Enolpe was wearing a military uniform. – Dan Toribio
